ATTENTION: We have been informed that the National Park Service will no longer be allowing any commercial tours of the Fiery Furnace as of January 1st, 2017. Our most popular alternatives to the Fiery Furnace are Devil's Garden and Tower Arch.


Our guided hiking tour of The Fiery Furnace in Arches National Park leads you through what is essentially a maze. There are no trails, signs, or cairns in the Fiery Furnace. GPS units do not work well due to the towering sandstone walls. Navigating its complex passages requires physical agility and careful observation.

To protect the wildlife and plants that inhabit sand dunes and drainages between the rock walls, visitors must choose their steps wisely. Access to the furnace is also extremely limited by a permit system designed to reduce traffic and avoid emergencies in this unique place, so you should reserve you trip at least 8 days in advance. All hikers should be relatively fit, able to hike for up to 4 hours and able to squeeze through cracks as narrow as 3 feet wide.

We look at the fiery furnace as a playground for adults. This half day hike involves some climbing, scrambling, and squeezing through narrow cracks which will bring out your inner child and rekindle the joy of youth. Our guided tour offers a more private and secluded experience than other companies, and we'll show you the secret places that only a guide would know about.

NOTE: Even if you've booked your tour well in advance (which increases our chances of success), we cannot guarantee that we will be able to secure permits from the Park Service. We are able to send final confirmation of your trip 7 days prior to the scheduled date once we have permits in hand. If we are unsuccessful, you'll recieve a 100% refund or we can attempt to reschedule or rebook another activity. With enough notice however, we are confident we'll be able to pull it off!
